As the successor to the very successful TM-D700 the new TM-D710E offers true dual band operation with separate receivers for 2m and 70cm. The receiver works from 118 to 524 and from 800 to 1300MHz. The max. transmit power is 50W on each band, reducable to 10 or 5W.
As a special feature the TM-D710E supports the connection of a GPS receiver and with that the operation as an APRS node. This support includes the new "NEWn-n" system for disseminating the position reports in the APRS system. Instead of the GPS receiver a weatherstation (Peet, Davis) could be connected, allowing the use of the transceiver as a weather node in the APRS system.
New! These weather stations by Peet Bros. are now also on sale at WiMo. Together with the TM-D710E you have an unbeatable APRS station. And of course you know what the weather will be. Link to Peet Weather stations.
Like the TM-V71E the new TM-D710E supports Echolink operation. With an optional cable (PG-5H) and suitable software on a computer the transceiver can be immediately used as an Echolink node. Ten memories serve as special DTMF stores for often recalled Echolink connections.
Of course the display can be installed remotely (requires optional cable set PG-5F). The colour of the display can be selected by the user as amber or green. A DTMF microphone with backlit keys is included.
The new Kenwood mobile dualbander TM-V71E offers everything you will ever need in respect of fucntional richness and ease of use.
As a real dualbander simultaneous reception on 2m and 70cm is possible, as well as dual reception with VHF (V+V) and UHF (U+U). Max. 50W of power (can be reduced) on both bands offer best reach even in difficult areas. Up to 1000 memories leave no gaps, the display is either by frequency or alpha numeric.
The TM-V71E is perfect for Echolink operations. Together with the optional cable PG-5H the radio can be directly connectd to a computer and work as an Echolink gateway. Ten DTMF memories serve as often called Echolink node numbers.
To facilitate operations under different circumstances the TM-V71E offers the choice of five user profiles. The helps to manage the 1000 memories. The large and easy readable LC display is backlight in either amber or green and can be mounted upside down, if the radio is to be installed in the roof area of your car. With various optional cable sets the front panel can be detached and mounted separately.
Kenwood offers a free programming software which can be used with the optional PG-5G programming cable. A DTMF microphone with backlit keys is included.
RC-D710
Use your TM-V71E just like a TM-D710E! The RC-D710 is a direct replacement control unit which brings all the functions of the TM-D710E to all TM-V71E users (requires latest software on the TM-V71E).
And also older Kenwood mobile transceivers can use all APRS/Packet functions of this extension, the control functions remain with the original device. To older radios the RC-D710 is connected with the optional cable set PG-5J. This is useable with the following radios: TM-D700E, TM-V708E, TM-G707E, TM-V7E, TM-733E, TM-255E und TM-455E.
Main features of RC-D710:
